USHA SINGH - Grand Canyon
Oil on canvas 90 x 60cm One of the most under rated walks in the Blue Mountains, The grand Canyon walk is a trip through Jurrasic treescape. My painting inspired by the unique forms of life found at the base of the Canyon. This romantic landscape painting reflects upon the prehistoric sense of time as it stood still and captures that drama through the details in the artwork. The long shadows and warm glows evoke the timeless existence of forest incensed with sights and sound of the canyon walls and rivers. The painting soaks up the atmosphere, to showcase infinite abundance of forest life; moving trees that are caught in a transient reflection over water. The ancient landscape is not only layered with history, but with aboriginal myths and legends recognizing the significance of this place for the elders.
